Leading successful change in MOE Schools is 10% strategy and 90% execution. Thanks to a forward-looking MOE, your school’s success rest on the staff’s ability to implement the strategy comprehensively to produce sustainable change.

In driving strategic initiatives we tend to underestimate the challenges in effecting change to achieve the intended outcomes. How do we manage the fatigue and resistance of our colleagues in the change journey? How do we engineer a clear change agenda to harness the positive energy of our people? How do we align and coerce departments to champion and effectively implement their action plans for a reinforcing aggregated impact?

This workshop will enable you to learn and acquire the skills for a structured approach to Change Management of strategic initiatives. Department action plans are implemented well when both hard logistical matters and soft people issues are addressed. Participants will be guided on the essential components of Change Management. Our approach emphasizes on having clarity and understanding of the strategic change agenda – why and how it works and the intended outcome. Key factors driving successful change are examined. Barriers that hinder are addressed. Participants will learn to design a change programme that effectively ride on the success factors and overcome barriers. With successful change programme, departments will understand their roles and responsibilities in managing change for an effective action plan implementation. Lastly the participants will also learn the fundamental and best practices of Action Planning and Project Management in schools.

This workshop adopts an active learning approach which builds on the participants’ experiences and knowledge, leveraging on real-life MOE school cases for authentic learning and application. Collaborative learning in small groups with other school participants also provides opportunities for ideas cross-fertilization and knowledge co-creation.
